Fusion Dumpling Chinese Restaurant

Wow. Wow. WOW. This place completely blew us away. We’ve had authentic Chinese food many times, and more often than not, it ends in disappointment… but not here. Every single dish was outstanding there truly wasn’t one miss. You can taste the elevated quality in every bite, from the freshness of the ingredients to the care put into the preparation. This is the kind of meal you keep thinking about long after you leave. From the outside, the restaurant looks small and unassuming, but once you step inside, it opens up into a beautiful, welcoming space. Seating is limited and there’s a sign-in sheet at the entrance, but trust me whatever the wait is, it’s worth it. Do not let that deter you. Pricing was very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, and the service was prompt and attentive throughout our visit. If I’m being extremely picky, the only minor hiccup was the room-temperature water at the table, which had a few floating particles, and we had to ask for ice more than once before it arrived. That said, this was such a small detail in an otherwise flawless experience. Everything was clean, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. We left incredibly happy and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend! This is a must-try. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I found this place very randomly as I was simply walking around and did not know this place at all. However, it did not disappoint! Beijing Duck potstickers and the cauliflower flaming pot are both delicious. Although it’s slightly hard to get the waiter’s attention at the entrance and upon newly seated, once they are aware of my existence, all the waitresses are super nice and can provide service quickly.

Had lunch at Fusion Dumpling in San Francisco today and loved the incredible food and efficient service. Every single item was delicious and crafted with care. We tried the following items: The viral crab meat lo mein Pork soup dumplings Pan fried pork soup bao Honey walnut shrimp Peking duck potstickers Wagyu and black truffle dumplings Chicken stir fried noodles Crispy garlic fish fillet Explosive chicken Black sesame bao I wish I could pick my favorite but my family and I genuinely enjoyed each of them. The flavors were all perfectly balanced, the dumplings were juicy, soupy and incredibly delicious. The chicken, fish and shrimp were crispy and crunchy and super yummy. One thing I want to mention is the presentation which was so beautiful and unique, never seen anything like it. The way the crab lo mein was hanging over floating chopsticks with the crabmeat sauce poured over it is something that is definitely eye catching. The pan fried pork soup bao came perched on a ‘tree’ and the honey walnut shrimp display is something you should order and see for yourself. The restaurant itself is quite spacious and beautiful inside and the service is very warm and attentive. Highly recommend visiting multiple times. I will definitely be back!

Located in the heart of San Francisco's Chinatown, Fusion Dumpling is a Shanghai dumpling house with a menu featuring authentic Chinese cuisine from Szechuan, Shanghai, and Northern China. They are best known for their fan-favorite savory soup dumplings. We were looking for something warm to soothe the soul on a cold winter's day in San Francisco (of which we have many of), and decided to get their shrimp & pork wonton pot, which features home-made pork wontons, shrimp, mushrooms, tofu, and assorted vegetables. To go with the mini hot pot, we decided to get an order of their signature pork soup dumplings. Service was quick and efficient - we found ourselves digging into the into the food in no time. The dumplings we fresh, well made, and very flavorful - the perfect bite to warm you up. Despite the name "mini hot pot", you do get quite a sizeable amount of food, and this as enough for two of us to share! The pork wontons were the highlight of this dish as the filling was flavorful and the dumplings were perfectly cooked so that the dumpling skin still had a nice chew to it. I'll definitely be back in the future to enjoy some of their other menu items!

We ordered the pork soup dumplings, pan fried dumplings that came on a tree-like stand, and black sesame dumplings. The soup dumplings were fine but didn’t stand out. The sauces were basic. I didn’t realize the pan fried dumplings also had soup inside. They were bigger and doughier so harder to eat. You definitely couldn’t do it in one bite. The filling was fine but it was too doughy for me. The black sesame dumplings, however, were DELICIOUS. They were warm and oozy in the middle. The staff were very attentive and were on top of it when my friend spilled his coke. The ambiance is an interesting mix of traditional and modern.

Tastes like home. As a transracial Chinese Adoptee, traditional and authentic Chinese food was not prepared in the house nor were there any local Chinese restaurants growing up. I have never had such a visceral experience with food and culture as I did here. These transformative dishes included the Chong Qing Numbing Spicy Noodle ($14) and (if I recall correctly) Liuzhou Spicy Rice Noodle Soup ($16). It was like my taste buds awoke to flavours I maybe never have had but also were so familiar and comforting that it was a deeply meaningful experience. Like I mentioned, it tastes like home and I felt deeply connected to my culture of origin. The transformative nature of food is what inspires me and drives my passion for eating and writing about what I eat. I’m so grateful I stumbled upon this restaurant and got a glimpse of fulfilling and wholesome Chinese cuisine.

Some of the best dumplings I've ever had. The server was attentive and quick to pick up my mood. Cleared dishes quick, checked on me and made great recommendations. I'd go back, and for the first time I left a 30% tip. We'll earned.
